Wolves are a magnificent, if misunderstood, creature. For decades they were hunted nearly to extinction. Thanks in large part to a change in public perception; they are making a comeback.

Due in large part to government policies, the Gray Wolf was eradicated throughout the entire continental United States. Today, thanks to a change in government policy and public perceptions, the Gray Wolf is making a comeback. In 1995, the National Park Service and the Fish and Wildlife Service reintroduced roughly 3 dozen of these magnificent animals to Yellowstone National Park. Today, the wolf population of the Yellowstone ecosystem is well over two hundred strong.
